Bad cell phone reception? Blame the network, not the phone

Friday October 24, 2003
Call quality depends more on your network than on your phone. Yet, the study found that, within the same network, various handset's call quality would vary about 30%. But the most expensive cell phones were not necessarily the best ones. (source) This confirms something I have always thought: when shopping for a cell phone, it's better to buy it, test it in your favorite areas, then return it if it's bad... than rely on the phone's reputation of good or bad call quality.

Not true. I have worked with cell phones for a long time and the chepies always come back with reception problems. It really depends on the phone. A good sales person will tell you what phones are better. For example Sanyo’s get better reception then samsung, but high end samsung are almost comparable to sanyo. If you are stuck and are having issues with your coverage try a better phone!!!
