Verizon to invest $1 billion to make wireless data faster

1xRTTT and GPRS aren't fast enough. Trying it should convince you. But last fall, AT&T Wireless announced a faster wireless data network based on the EDGE technology. And it seems to have motivated Verizon Wireless to also upgrade its high-speed data network. The new service will be rolled out nationally over the course of two years, and as soon as this summer in some cities.
