NEC about to launch its credit card-sized camera phone
Wednesday February 4, 2004
I hate to report on cell phones that are only available in Asia since it's so frustrating for us, North-Americans, but I make exceptions when it's truly interesting. Last fall, NEC announced a camera phone the size of a credit card, the N900, and now it says it will be on sale in China by the end of this month. Despite its small size, the N900 supports GPRS, has a built-in camera with burst mode and 70 minutes of talk time! Given the company's recent comeback in the U.S. market, maybe we can expect this card-sized phone to hit our shelves someday.
