Rural Residents Want to Keep Their Analog Cell Phones
Tuesday July 26, 2005
Hearing people say that they get much better reception with analog phones is a comon story, especially in rural areas. But the FCC will allow carriers to phase out analog service by 2008 and another rule, forcing them to make sure 95% of their customers can handle 911 location services (a rescue service only offered on recent digital phones) may force many to leave their analog service sooner. So consumer associations are leading the fight to, at least, have the FCC push back the 95% 911 deadline.

I purchased my phone last year and really like it and the service I get. Why do I have to purchase a new phone[they are expensive] that I don’t want. Let me keep the phone I have.
Pleas keep analog…I hate digital
