Mobile Broadband Getting Quite Interesting As Competition Heats Up

Using a cellular PC Card modem with a wireless broadband data plan is a great way to stay connected for travelers. It puts and end to the never-ending hassle of finding WiFi's or connecting through hotel telephone lines: Wherever you go, you have your own connection.

Most broadband services cover only the major cities and some smaller cities, with the exception of Cingular's EDGE service, which also reaches a great deal of small town and rural areas, but with a data speed going from 150 to 200 Kbps, it's not as fast as other "broadband" services, who reach as high as 400 Kbps, such as Sprint's and Verizon's EV-DO.
