41% Of Americans Use Their Phone To Kill Time

Tuesday April 4, 2006
I just ran accross an interesting study about how Americans use their cell phones by the Pew Internet Center. Here are some interesting findings:

  • 44% wait to make calls during their free night & weekend hours. Ha ha! Bunch of cheapos! (yet, I do the same).
  • A surprising 74% have already used their phone once for an emergency. Wow! What a revolution in safety!
  • That said. 28% admit they don't drive as safely as usual when they use their cell phone. And it's mostly men.
  • And, not surprisingly, 36% say they have been shocked occasionally when opening their monthly cell phone bill.
