Motorola Working On a Truly Silent Call Alert: An Electric Shock!

Friday April 21, 2006
Today's vibrating "silent alert" are not always so silent. Especially if you left your phone on the meeting table and it starts to buzz its way down to the floor. Motorola has applied for a patent for a new type of silent call alert that will just send you a friendly jolt of electricity comparable to a "therapeutic massage". The down side is you will have to wear a "stimulator pad" directly on your skin, which brings us one step closer to the sooner-or-later reality where all of this is leading us: the brain implant. But don't worry, that kind of "revolution" always takes a while to happen. (Sources: Mobileburn and Gizmodo)
