Controversial Racist Ringtone Pulled By Cingular

A controversial ringtone, which made fun of deporting illegal Latin-American immigrants, was pulled from Cingular's web site yesterday after the company received a complained from the league of United Latin American Citizens. The ringtone played the sound of a siren and then a voice that said: "Calmate, calmate, this is la migra. Por favor, put the oranges down and step away from the cell phone. I repeat-o, put the oranges down and step away from the telephone-o. I`m deporting you back home-o." Cingular says it will put more efforts in reviewing ringtones that are submitted to them by a variety of providers.

Cingular needs to investigate what kind of racist !@#$% would make such a thing-WHAT!, a mexican American made that ringtone! What can we do? Only whites can be charged with racism. Perhaps we shoukd have taken it in the context it was presented, humor.
What? Now illegal immigrants are telling us what ringtones we can have? I didn’t realise ULAC had to much pull, of course then again I didn’t realise the mexican consolate controlled US border patrol policies either…
Now excuse me, Mr. Henson, but since when has the ULAC been just a bunch of “illegal immigrants.” ULAC complained to Cingular, not “telling us what ringtones we can have.” Did you have that ringtone? If not, then why the anger towards a group looking to tell Cingular that the ringtone is out of line? It’s doing its job. Alarming that you associate the ULAC with illegal immigrants and try to deny Latin-Americans political organizations.
Mr. Kozicki, to begin with, there’s no way around it being racist in any context so don’t even try “only whites can be charged with racism.” That’s an inappropriate comment: Cingular reviewed the tune that was brought to its attention and decided it was indeed racist. They would have done the same if the ringtone composer was white, Asian, or black OR if the targetted ethnic group was anyone else.

This just goes to show how much power these groups have. Americans better wake up and realize that we are becoming a third world country! Just wait until our idiotic government gives this invasion of illegals the keys to the country, they’re already getting the benefits. And how dare they wave another country’s flag on OUR soil, it’s disgusting!
