If You Watch Ads, Virgin Mobile Will Give You Free Minutes

Tuesday May 30, 2006
In a move that reminds me of when AllAdvantadge.com used to pay people to watch ads -- which didn't succeed -- Virgin Mobile think they may have a good take to the concept: "Be paid to watch ads". Starting June 14, Virgin will give you one free minute per 30-second commercial watched on your computer or received on your phone as a text message. Furthermore, you need to answer questions on the ads you just saw.

Assuming that viewing an ad and answering a question will take about 1 minute, this means an average of $12 to $15 per hour in free minutes at an average value of 20 cents per minute, with a maximum of 75 per month. But that's without mentioning the hypnotic effect these ads will have on you to make you spend more.

Justin, I don’t wanna talk for them but I’m sure a company like Virgin has no interest in ripping their customers off of 1 minute here and there. I’d recommend calling their tech support before concluding that they are ripping you off. Good luck. Eric
