What Sprint's WiMAX Plans Mean For Mobile Internet Users
WiMAX, even if it sounds like WiFi, is more akin to cellular network based Internet service: it has a broad range (reportedly at least 6 miles, compared to a few hundred feet for WiFi) and uses protected licensed frequencies, therefore appliances shouldn't interfere with it like cordless phones currently do for WiFi.
WiMAX could become a cheap alternative to expensive cellular data connection while providing a similar mobility experience. But since it's still far from being available, you can always resort to currently available broadband cellular internet options. Expensive, but how convenient.

So when will sprint release this project? I think it is a good idea. And it absolutely brings good news too to those Sprint users.
I have been useing the Novatel Wireless S-620 Aircard from Sprint since January. Lately, If your machine has sufficient power, I have been able to multiples streaming from television stations on my Notebook. This due to an Upgrade of their system, last month. I am a believer!
