Technology Columnist Proves Cell Phone Antenna Booster Stickers To Be Ineffective

Friday November 10, 2006
Andy Kaiser, a computer consultant and self-published technology columnist, just read my article on doubtful cell phone antenna boosters and sent me a note about a quite interesting test he performed. A double-blind placebo-controlled study, which led him to the unsurprising conclusion that "antenna booster stickers are a scam". According to his data, cell phones used with an antenna-booster performed worse than the same cell phone with nothing at all.

So next time you run into a fishy sticker with bad science-fiction drawings on it that claims to improve your cell phone signal, invest your money in ice-cream or fudge. Even though it melts, it's more real.
