For Nokia, Future Cell Phones Will Have No Keypad And Focus On A TouchScreen
Tuesday December 19, 2006
Nokia has been trying to push the idea of a keypad-less cell phone for ages... with limited success. The technology exists already (think of all those PDA phones) but consumers are probably not ready. Or is it the software and interface itself that is not well made enough?
A YouTube video has been circulating recently, showing how Nokia envisions the next touchscreen system: Users will slide their display up and down and sideways a bit like you do with your laptop's touchpad and finger touching (instead of pen) will be the norm. Check it out.
