China Will Force Cell Phone Manufacturers To Make Standard Chargers

Wednesday December 20, 2006

China will force cell phone manufacturers to implement a standard connector for chargers so that users can keep their charger when switching to a new phone, a measure that should be good for consumers and the environement: It will likely reduce the number of un-used chargers (China has 450 million cell phone users and at least 100 million cell phones are sold every year, according to the ShanghaiDaily).
