Video Call Becomes True In Canada With Rogers Wireless

Tuesday April 3, 2007
AT&T surprised us last week with VideoShare, a service that lets you stream a live video of what you are seeing right now to your calling parties.

AT&T's new service was a step towards two-way video calling, but this week, Rogers Wireless, a Canadian service provider, bypassed AT&T with "VISION", a two-way video calling service. With VISION, not only others can see you (or what you are seeing) but you also see them at the same time.

No details are available yet on pricing and cities covered but Rogers demonstrated its service with the "First official video call in North-America", performed by canadian actor William Shatner and John Boynton, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Rogers Wireless (Illustration by Rogers Wireless).
