Old Cell Phones Lingering In A Shoe Box? Here Is How To Get Rid Of Them

Monday April 9, 2007
My friend Louis, from Ottawa, just emailed me with a pressing question: What should he do with the various cell phones he has acquired in the last few years and stored, for lack of a better way to get rid of them.

Fortunately, there are many things Louis (and you) can do to recycle used cell phones. You can:

  • Donate them to a charity, either in Canada or the United States.
  • Sell them for your own profit.
  • Or even sell a whole bundle of cell phones if you represent a corporation owning many phones.
  • There is even a company specializing in recycling only your used battery.
  • Some organizations will even let you choose to direct the profit generated by your cell phone to any charity of your choice.

So wait no more and visit my Used Cell Phones Recycling Page to discover thousands of drop-off locations throughout North-America. There is probably one just around the corner from where you live. (Illustration: An old Sanyo SCP-4500 that could certainly use some recycling)
