Motorola Will Pay Schools To Recycle Cell Phones -- No Matter The Brand

Friday April 13, 2007
Schools of America: no need to sell anymore chocolate to finance activities. Motorola launched this week a new cell phone recycling program called the "Race To Recycle", inviting students to collect used cell phones from their neighborhood. Motorola will pay a varying fee depending on the cell phone returned. For example, an old Samsung N200 is only worth 15 cents but a Samsung i730 will earn the lucky school a whopping $33.90.

Cell phones must be intact. Smashed or partial phones will also be accepted and recycled, but will not qualify for a payment. Schools can join at Motorola's dedicated Race To Recycle web site.
