Review: The LG Shine VX8700
Saturday May 5, 2007
The LG VX8700 is one of LG's best overall phone so far. It has slight annoyances but no major default. Most users will find it satisfying and lovely. Find out why I liked it so much and don't hesitate to give it a 4.5 star rating, a score my demanding mind rarely awards.

I had the LG shine but sold it after 1 month. It’s useless in bright light since ithe screen is a mirror. The keypad was too flexible and felt flimsy, and the keys didn’t always work right. It got scratched easity and then it looked really bad — not my kind of phone after all…
I’m looking to upgrade to a newer phone after several years with the one I have now. I went into a store and actually held and checked out variou cell phones and their features, talk and stand by times etc and out of the entire ‘Verizon’ line at this present time, the LG VX8700 caught my eye for many reasons. The first thng I noticed was that the styling is sleek and professional looking. Then when I held it, I LOVED the weight of the phone. It felt ’solid’ in my hands and not flimsy in any way. The phone has adequate usage and stand-by times and some great features. The 2.0 camera is nice as it produces a better quality picture than my current phone. However, I have a nice hand-held digital camera that I use to take my pictures with and always carry with me so I rarely have need for my cell phone camera aside from those rare emergencies. Still nice to have “just in case” though! The fact that it doesn’t have a flash doesn’t bother me. The phone is also slim and easy to carry in pockets or in a small handbag. This is the phone for me.
