Poll: Which Phones Offer The Best Level Of Liberty?

It may have happened to you:

  • You take a great picture with your cell phone but there is no way to transfer it to your computer than to use your carrier's paid picture messages.
  • You want to assign that great MP3 song as your ringtone but your phone just won't let you do it.
  • You'd like to record a sound and make it a ringtone but again, that feature is blocked.

Technical limitation? Worse! That's called phone crippling. Unfortunately, in the hope of squeezing a few more dollars out of your pockets, cell phone carriers force manufacturers to block some functions. But strangely enough, some manufacturers seem to resist, since their cell phones generally include more options for do-it-yourself personalization and photo transfer. So what do you think...
