While U.S. Gets iPhone Price Drop, Rogers Refuses To Comment On Canada Availability
While carriers in various countries have announced their plans about the iPhone and Americans get a $200 price drop, Rogers Wireless (along with its parent company Fido) is surprisingly mute about its plans with the iPhone in Canada. Every single question asked gets a "We do not comment on the iPhone". "The decision not to comment comes from above us", says Sébastien Bouchard, a media relationist for Rogers.
Rogers won't even deny (or confirm) a persistent rumor according to which they can't come to an agreement with Apple because of Rogers' wireless data plan being too expensive. However, Mr. Bouchard agreed to arrange an interview on Rogers' data plans. To be continued...

When did FIDO become the parent company for Rogers?
Rogers is a freak of business nature; Pure unadulterated greed. The feds should be on thier tail but the competition bureau probably all use Fido/Rogers phones.
Rogers is the parent company of FIDO, not the other way around. FIDO was purchased by Rogers in later 2004.
The CRTC is at fault for allowing Rogers to buy FIDO - now there is no competition.
Its amazing that Canadians put up with this crap.
I suggest writing to the CRTC and complaining about Rogers destroying 21st century communications an holding Canada in the 19th century.
Hi.
