Vodafone announced a new service for its UK customers today that provides UK satellite navigation from Telmap. Cell phone users in the UK with compatible handsets can now get around without getting lost as easily. According to Vodafone its new Sat Nav service is the first branded mobile navigation solution available for consumers in the UK.

The service will be compatible with GPS enabled handsets like the Nokia N95, Nokia 6110, and the BlackBerry Pearl 8110. The service will cost subscribers GBP 5 per month with the first month of service is free. Vodafone is also using the new Sat Nav service to sweeten the pot for UK cell phone users considering the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 by including the first year of the new Sat Nav service for free.

The Vodafone Sat Nav service gives users the ability to use navigation when walking and in a car. Features include 3D maps that are up-to-date and the service gives instant access to traffic alerts and points-of-interest.
