Ever Wonder How Much Sprint/Nextel Makes in a Year?
by Shane McGlaun
Sprint reported its earnings figures for Q4 2007 and the full year earnings for 2007 today. I know as much as my cell phone plan costs I have often wondered what kind of scratch cellular companies bring in each year. The full year revenue for Sprint Nextel was $40.1 billion, which is a lot of money. Sprint says its revenues for 2006 were $40.1 billion so it had no growth there.
Sprint blames the lower quarterly revenues it has seen on the decline of wireless contribution. In other words Sprint is hemorrhaging customers. This loss of revenue and migration of its customer base is one reason cited by many for the slower roll out of Sprint’s Xohm WiMAX high speed data service. Sprint reports that it lost 683,000 post paid subscribers in Q4 2007.
