GyPSii for iPhone Launches

Wednesday March 5, 2008

by Shane McGlaun

GyPSii is now available on the Apple iPhone. What exactly is GyPSii? According to the manufacturer of the software GyPSii is a geo-location and social networking service. The application puts several different services onto the iPhone and is used by going to the GyPSii site on the iPhone web browser.

GyPSii says that once the iPhone SDK becomes available it will offer an iPhone native version of the application, but for now the service is available in a web based format. Dan Harple, GyPSii CEO says, “We’ll work with the SDK as soon as it becomes available, and then we will be uniquely offering both web and native versions of our application for iPhone users.”

A few of the features GyPSii offers include geo-location services offering the ability for users to navigate to the location their favorite people are at. Location based searches for people and places are offered as well. The idea behind the service is to allow a mobile social networking application that will allow users to find their friends and get to where they are using the application. It appears that the service would allow users to make new friends as well by meeting them via the GyPSii service.
