Adidas and Samsung Team up for miCoach
by Shane McGlaun
Adidas and Samsung weren’t content to let Nike and Apple have all the fun when it comes to being able to track your workouts. Nike has its Nike+ iPod system and Adidas and Samsung have teamed up for a similar system called miCoach.
The miCoach system consists of five components that combine to provide personalized audile feedback. The components include a Samsung miCoach phone, heart rate monitor, stride sensor that fits all Adidas running shoes, compatible Adidas apparel, and the miCoach website.
Details on how exactly the miCoach system operates are sketchy at this time. Adidas doesn’t really describe the workings of the system other than to say miCoach is like having a personal trainer around to guide you. The system is set for availability in mid-March at around 400 euros. The pricing appears to be without the shoes. A launch date for the miCoach system in the US has not been announced.
