Slingshot Wireless Launches Pre-Paid Wireless Broadband

For a long time now wireless phone users have had the option of using a pre-paid phone service. This type of service is great for parents that need to keep tight control over the minutes kids use. It’s also great for those who don’t want to go through a credit check.

One of the big problems I have always had with wireless broadband service is that you have to pay the full price and I only used it on rare occasions. Thankfully Verizon allows you to get a day rate for wireless Internet when needed, but it’s still expensive at $15 per day.

Slingshot announced today that it was launching the first contract free wireless broadband plan in the country. The service offers a pay as you go plan and requires no credit check or contract. The service promises DSL speeds without the need for a hotspot. Slingshot says that its wireless service will cost around 6-8 cents per minute.
