Software monitors Mobile Text Messages for Objectionable Keywords

Thursday April 10, 2008

by Shane McGlaun

Driving while using a cell phone has been banned in several states recently and cyber bullying via text messages and cell calls is reaching an all time high. Many parents are looking for a way to help curb cyber bulling and the use of cellular phones at inappropriate times.

An application for mobile phones from MyKidisSafe.com is now available to help carriers, handset makers and resellers enable parents to help keep their kids safe. The software can restrict mobile phone use while driving as well as restrict use during sleeping hours and school.

Another interesting feature looks for a list of 1500 objectionable words in text messages and more. When one of the objectionable words is found in text messages parents are notified. Phones with GPS enable the software to block use while driving.
