Europe Gets 10 British Pound GSM Phone

Friday April 11, 2008

by Shane McGlaun

For all the cool stuff you can do on smart phone and all the other features on cell phones today there are many users that just don’t do anything on their phones but make the occasional phone call. For this crowd what they want is the cheapest mobile phone they can get.

Hop-on has introduced just the phone for minimalists. Its low end GSM phone has no LCD screen and is basically a disposable phone. Two versions are available and one is for the U.S. market. A 900/1800 MHz phone is for Europe and the 850/1900MHz phone is for the U.S. market and will work with AT&T and T-Mobile networks.

In the U.S. the GSM phone will retail for only $20. Hop-on says it is also planning to enter other foreign markets with its phone including the Middle East, Asia and India. Hop-on says that it expects to sell a million of the handsets.

Maybe I am not doing something right but I have not figured out how to use the ringtones that I get from bluetooth as ringtones. It sends the songs to pocket tunes and that’s it. How do I use these as actual ringtones? A lot of pictures mail that I get I can’t send to another phone I can only send to an e-mail address. Is this phone designed that way? Please if you know the solution to my problems let me know. I love my phone but I want to presonalize it and can’t

Thanks
