Virgin Mobile on June 24, 2008 announced the industry’s lowest-priced “unlimited” plan for $79.99 per month.

Though the Sprint reseller has endured criticism for not actually making its “Totally Unlimited” plan totally unlimited (texting and data usage are extra), Virgin Mobile says focusing on voice only is the key.

But why? Aren’t the other extras important to many people, too? Don’t you want everything with simplicity and no hidden or additional fees? This interview between About.com cell phones guide Adam Fendelman and Virgin Mobile delves into the reasoning behind the new plan.
