The more technology advances, the more we’re inundated with new jargon and confusing acronyms.

In order to understand where we are in the world of cell phones, it’s helpful to understand where we came from. These cell phone definitions will give you a basic history of the technology framework that allows every call you place today to complete.

You may have heard the term 3G thrown about today in reference to higher-speed data transmission. But what’s 1G, 2G and 2.5G? Also, what’s the 4G network of tomorrow?
