When the concept of a “virus” first crosses the brain, most of us either think about an ailment with the human body or a software attack on a computer.

Few of us think about viruses obtained from the mobile Web using mobile phones. We should, though, according to SMobile Systems chief technology officer Dan Hoffman in my new interview with the security expert.

Hoffman says there are now more than 400 mobile viruses and malware that have already been detected and the number is regularly on the rise.

Just as anti-virus software is a regular part of our protective computer arsenal, he says the same should apply for your mobile device. Read more about the alarming new trend.
