The “world’s thinnest device”? Texting more than talking?

Those two claims are now being asserted by AT&T with the release of the Pantech Slate C530 cell phone, which also features a full keyboard for $49.99 (if you play by all their rules).

But beware the Slate’s battery.

Whether or not text messaging is your friend, enemy or something in which you’re entirely indifferent about, one thing’s for sure: the average U.S. cell phone user sent 357 texts a month versus 204 voice calls based on recent Nielsen data.
