I support U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood’s desire to ban texting on your cell phone while driving, which he announced on Wednesday at a news conference detailing plans to study and advise on how to reduce the issue of distracted drivers.
What I don’t support is a plan to only ban text messaging and not talking on your cell phone while driving, too. Hands-free earpieces help, yes, but your attention is still required and is partially (and sometimes lethally) taken off the road.
Some studies say drivers merely talking on their cell phones have delayed response times on par with drivers under the influence of alcohol. Do you think we should ban texting while driving, texting and talking, both or neither? Vote below!

I went back and forth several times before finally saying no.
Good idea. Bad policy. Haven’t headphones been banned for years now? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of someone being ticketed for headphones.
The tool in the hand isn’t the problem. The tool at the wheel is.
texting and talking on cell phone are the same action. a driver texting msg or talking while driving is distracted by cell phone equally. in my opinion, both of them should be prohibited.
anyway, it’s pretty interesting!

I think Talking it’s ok, but to writing is not comfortable when we are a drive.
