Combined with software on your cell phone, the company uses GPS (or the planet's many atmospheric satellites) to detect when you're moving faster than 10 miles per hour (i.e. driving rather than walking).
When you drive, ZoomSafer has a number of products for minimizing cell phone distractions that are designed to improve driver safety. The services range from free to $10 per month.
For $2 per month, non-smartphone users can send and receive voice-powered text messages and emails. For $5 per month, you get enhanced safe-driving services. For $10 per month, ZoomSafer offers the ability for enterprises to control specific policies on end-user devices.
But even when you're driving and your hands aren't on your cell phone, your brain can potentially still be distracted. Do you think cell phone software can prevent driver distraction or should people just not use their phones while driving? Chime in on our new poll below!

Thank you for the thoughtful post.
My name is Matt Howard and i am the founder of ZoomSafer where we believe that distracted driving is a complicated behavioral problem. Therefore, to modify people’s behavior — we need more than laws and education. We need innovative safe driving solutions that are contextual to the motorist experience and that help people understand the consequences (both negative and positive) of the choices they make.
By helping drivers make better choices we can reduce crashes, reduce liability, save lives and money.
Seeing is believing. Therefore, we invite anyone who is interested to try it for free by visiting http://www.zoomsafer.com.
Thanks for the opportunity to post.
Adam..
* idea is a great one no doubt..but ZoomSafer is definitely not the best solution..
* software itself has glitches that are irritating and time consuming..and not flexible with end user usage
* fact that it eats up battery and turns your cell into a brick is also no hidden fact….
well people should also be told about resisiting the temptation of using ZoomSafer..
or kiss their cell fones gudbye..
