Verizon Wireless is preparing to offer a new data plan for smartphone user, according to published reports. The plan, which would cost $15 a month, would offer 150 MB of data, according to Engadget, which says the new plan will be offered beginning on October 28.
The move is not unexpected; the CEO of Verizon Wireless recently had confirmed rumors that the company would offer a tiered plan. AT&T Wireless also recently switched to a tiered data plan, which offers 200MB of data for $15 a month or 2GB of data for $25 a month.
While AT&T eliminated its unlimited data plan (though the carrier did allow existing subscribers to stick with the unlimited plan), Verizon reportedly will continue to offer an unlimited data plan for $29.99 a month.
