Apple traditionally releases a new version of its iPhone every summer. But this year, it seems, we may be waiting a little longer to get our hands on the new iPhone.
According to a blog posted on MacRumors.com, Apple will not release the iPhone 5 in its "usual June-July timeframe." That information was obtained by one of the site's readers, who contacted AT&T to ask about his eligibility for an upgraded handset. The reader says an AT&T agent told him that his eligibility for an upgraded iPhone had been pushed back because Apple had informed AT&T that "they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future."
As MacRumors points out, this information cannot be verified. But it gives credence to the growing speculation that the iPhone 5 will not be released in the next few months. Stay tuned.
