Introduction

  • Professional technical journalist specializing in smartphones.
  • Senior editor at PC World magazine.

Experience

Liane Cassavoy is a former writer for Lifewire, where she wrote extensively about smartphones for almost two years.

She began her career in technology journalism writing news stories and product announcements for PCWorld.com, covering smartphones, GPS devices, computers, digital cameras, and websites, but she moved to the reviews department after a few years and eventually became a senior associate editor. Her love affair with smartphones blossomed. She worked with the magazine's test center to implement lab testing and official rankings of cell phones and smartphones.

As a freelance journalist, Cassavoy has written about technology products as they affect businesses and about business issues and products for 'Entrepreneur Magazine," where she was a contributing columnist. She is the author of two business start-up guidebooks that were published by Entrepreneur Press.

Education

Cassavoy graduated from Boston University's College of Communications with an M.S. in Journalism. She graduated with distinction, and, while a graduate student there, won second prize in magazine writing competition sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists.
