No more free Nokia logos and graphics on the Internet? Not sure... Nokia has designed their phones with just enough functionality for you to do it yourself, provided you know the right way. Here it is:
Difficulty Level:
Hard
Time Required:
20 minutes
Here's How:
Locate a graphic on Internet that you'd like to have on your phone. Cellular Top Sites Lists may be a good place to start.
Once you are on the page where the graphic appears, "screen capture" that page. On Windows, do this by holding "Alt-Shift" and pressing "Print Screen".
Open your Computer's graphic edition program, such as Windows' "Paint" located under the "Accessories" folder of your Start menu.
Select "Edit" then "Paste". The page that you just captured should appear.
Using the graphic program's selection tool, select just the logo part of the page or any graphic, as long as it fits the specifications of 72 horizontal pixels by 14 vertical.
Select "Edit", then "copy" to copy that graphic in your computer's memory.
Then open a new instance of "Paint" (or your favorite graphic program) and create a new empty image of 72 x 16.
Paste the image you already had in memory into the new empty image.
Save it under whichever name you like.
Now you need to download and install a logo transfer program. See my list here.
Open the graphic that you just saved in the Graphics transfer program and follow their instructions on how to transfer it to your phone.
Tips:
If you have a North-American phone, follow the Nokia PC Suite method as described here.
