Pros: good display, sized right, good battery life
Cons: thumbs hurt after a while, 'themes' are limited, hard to navigate
Additional Comments: Verizon Sucks. They have 'broken' the phone so that it will not with third party software (e.g. Google maps) and you can not use SIM's to avoid their outrageous international rates. Plus you have to buy ringtones from them (although you can build your own and move them to the phone with an sd card) Email worked fine, but web browsing was difficult and unsatisfactory. After the trial period, I did not keep it.

Pros: Crisp display, full keypad, mp3/video, gps
Cons: keys aren't quite as easy to use as the 7200 series
Additional Comments: I love it, its far superior to the Pearl. I particularly love the MP3/Video player and the GPS (using Telenav)

  • - Ringtone Volume

Pros: Intuitive interface, Good display, Excellent battery life
Cons: Keyboard too crowded, GPS wholly inadequate, Silly one-touch button
Additional Comments: The 8800 is my second Blackberry, and my zillionth cell phone. I travel internationally a lot, and I only use quad band GSM cell phones - the Blackberry fits the bill - it works everywhere I travel. The GPS is not worth it, even with the maps application. If you are truly lost, it can help you locate your position, but it is useless as a navigation tool. I use (and carry around) my Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS instead. One good thing – the 8800 downloads maps on the fly over the network. The menu interface is much easier and faster to use. A dedicated menu button and the centre track ball are excellent improvements. RiM also streamlined many menu sequences. I kept hitting the one-touch command button on the side, so I disabled it. Battery life is excellent - much better than any other cell I used. Overall, I regret paying extra for GPS, otherwise the 8800 is a very good PDA.
