Review Title: Blackberry 7100i 4 out of 5. (by Quantum Saint) - 04/10/2006
Ratings for the following topics:
- Sound Quality
- Speakerphone
- Ringtone Volume
- Strength of Signal Reception
- Keypad
- Display
- Selection of Features
- Text Messaging
Pros: display is great, bright and easy to read, syncs with Outlook, PTT capability
Cons: menu navigation can be cumbersome at times, vibrate function is weak
Additional Comments: All in all this phone is a great deal. I use the walkie-talkie for work, and the calendar, task, and memo functions for personal use. The sync software is easy to install and use. I have downloaded several books that I reference on a regular basis and that is an awesome feature. The menus can be a bit cumbersome to navigate at times but I'm sure there are shortcuts that I haven't figured out yet. The reception is actually better than my Sprint phone and I haven't had a single dropped call, with Sprint I was constantly getting dropped calls, maybe it was just the crappy phone I bought. Nevertheless, it is an excellent device. It might not have the extra bells and whistles that the Treo has, but I don't need a camera phone or an MP3 player so the BB was a great choice. An SD card slot would have made it even sweeter, but it isn't that big of a deal. Email, GPS, bluetooth and messaging capabilities are all accoutned for and eay to use.
