  • Review Title: KX160 Cricket issues. (by PhatKat) - 08/13/2006

Pros: Pretty good sound, Nice displays and color, intuitive menus, good battery life.
Cons: Useless speakerphone, sluggish software, cheap feel and workmanship issues.
Additional Comments: Not a bad phone overall, Cricket tried to update the software on my first one only to find the data plug didn't work... Made me pay $45 to replace it under manufacturers warranty even though it was defective from the factory. I lost all of my ringtones and 5 $5.99 games. Cricket gave me 1 $5 credit. Also both of the phones I have owned will not receive picture messages. The speakerphones are tiny and quiet, max volume makes an awful 'blown speaker' sound. Bluetooth works well for a headset, limited file transfer abilities on the PC. The two screens are nice though. Not the best $240 phone I have seen. Would not buy again. (Phone or Cricket service.)

Pros: when it works it works well
    Cons: breaks every two weeks
Additional Comments: I have had the phone for almost 8 weeks and have been in to the Cricket store 4 times for handset issues. Most of the time when it has problems you can't even turn the phone on to look at your address book. I have gone through 4 batteries and 2 new phones and none of them work. I have been very carefull, it's never been dropped or had water damage. If I could justify the expense I would drive my car over the phone and crush it to bits! I will never buy another Kyocera.
