Review Title: LG VX8700 & Music (by formitchell) - 08/29/2007

  • - Strength of Signal Reception

Pros: Great looking, Easy to Use, Excellent Muisc Function and Really Good Camera
Cons: Front Display Hard to Read In Sunshine, Camera Button on Side of Phone, Speaker Can Only Be Put On During A Call
Additional Comments: Music saved to memory card is easy and the sound is great. Many different features with music including the album cover displayed. Camera takes really good pictures and with a USB cable real easy to dowmn load to PC. LG stereo head phones plug right into phone so no need for adapter. I had a moto E815 before this and loved it but this one is even better. The only thing this phone needs is a better system of making a call while listening to music. Moto phone allowd voice dialing during music this makes you exit to place a call although you can receive a call while listenting, then resume the music.

Pros: clear screen, easy to use menu, key pad, quick web access
Cons: screen blacks out while talking, dropped calls every so often, size of phone too large liked clam style better for fit in hand and for carrying
Additional Comments: Verizon needs to downsize the length of many of their phones and get away from the rectangle look.

Cons: Voice recognition doesn't work well for voice dialing contacts for 4 people I saw test on 3 different of these phones.
Additional Comments: Voice recognition doesn't work well. I don't know if that's because of Verizon's software on the phone or the phone hardware. Verizon menu voice train does not work on numbers on any of these of the 3 I and a Verizon salesperson tried. Traded for a Motorola Razr Maxx VE and it voice dials perfectly.

Pros: Durable but light, good looks, removable 2G card, mp3 player, crisp display, has all necessary features, great camera
Cons: Need LG Bluetooth for good voice pickup, mp3 plays through speakerphone and could be louder, when flip is closed pictures are mirror images (programming error)
Additional Comments: All in all a great phone. Only complaints i have are the reversed picture when the flip is closed, and your mp3's wont play through your bluetooth. Both can be fixed with a patch from LG if they ever put it out. Oh, and when you get a text message and voicemail alert, when you push view missed call, the voicemail alert pops up sometimes and then you have to hit send to see it.
