  • Review Title: Glad I upgraded! (by Bobbie) - 12/21/2005

    Ratings for the following topics:
  • - Sound Quality
  • - Speakerphone
  • - Ringtone Volume
  • - Strength of Signal Reception
  • - Keypad
  • - Display
  • - Selection of Features
  • - Text Messaging
  • - Camera

Additional Comments: I am so pleased with the I850. I upgraded from the I530 (construction phone). The I530 was great, but a little too bulky for my liking. The menu is easy to navigate if you have been a Nextel user. Rings-loud, DC-loud, and screen resolution is great. Camera is good for a phone (but I don't care, because I never use it). I would totally recommend this phone to anyone. Its pretty stout and a lot lighter than other Nextel phones including my previous phone. Battery life-you can't complain about that because it is a CELL PHONE. We all want to talk for 2 hours at a time...but it just doesn't happen people LOL. Reception and call quality are good but I notice if I have a bad signal, it sounds like the voice on the other end is coming through a computer. It was like that with my other phone too. Nextel needs more towers :-) The only real con I have is that the holster that comes with the phone. The phone hooks in backwards, so if you want to see who is calling or answer a call, you have to disconnect it out of the holster. I recommend buying an off brand holster for those who have to have one :-) Good luck

  • Review Title: Happy i850 Owner (by Lindsay) - 12/05/2005

    Ratings for the following topics:
  • - Sound Quality
  • - Speakerphone
  • - Ringtone Volume
  • - Strength of Signal Reception
  • - Keypad
  • - Display
  • - Selection of Features
  • - Text Messaging
  • - Camera

Pros: Speaker is very loud, call quality is good, not too heavy, sturdy, customizable
Cons: short-lived battery, camera quality lacks, keyboard and screen backlight (brightness not display) turn off and on at will, only three color schemes
Additional Comments: I greatly like my i850. My biggest knocks on it are simple: camera quality isn't the greatest but I hardly use it. The color schemes are limited, but I just stick to one anyway. My biggest beef is that the backlight brightness on the keyboard and screen turn on and off at will. The screen itself stays lit but the brightness level changes from bright to not as bright often. As for the free ringtone stuff, I have a service center near my place of employment and they do ringtones from cd's.

Pros: sounds good, looks good, great display.
Cons: No light for the camera, low battery life.
Additional Comments: ON THE I860 THEY BUT A LIGHT FOR THE CAMERA TO TAKE PICTURES IN THE DARK. ON THE I850 THEY DONT HAVE THAT SO U CAN ONLY TAKE PICTURES IN THE DAY OR ELSE YOU CANT SEE THEM!
