Review Title: Not what I thought, but it will do (by Purewop) - 10/21/2006

    Ratings for the following topics:
  • - Sound Quality
  • - Ringtone Volume
  • - Strength of Signal Reception
  • - Keypad
  • - Display
  • - Selection of Features
  • - Text Messaging

Pros: Easy to use with one hand, beautiful display, the joystick is very responsive, speakerphone is loud, the keypad is spaced well so you don't hit 3 keys when trying to for 1
Cons: poor volume in earpiece, no wifi, no 3G, applications are very slow to load
Additional Comments: I am a Windows fan, Symbion just doesn't match up. It's too slow to respond to commands. The screen is large and has great color. I do like the Blackberry push feature. I expected more from Nokia.

  • Review Title: Full of features, yet sluggish. (by Josh) - 10/10/2006

    Ratings for the following topics:
  • - Sound Quality
  • - Ringtone Volume
  • - Strength of Signal Reception
  • - Keypad
  • - Display
  • - Selection of Features
  • - Text Messaging

Pros: Lots of features, great browser, backed by great support
Cons: extremely sluggish between switching applications, keyboard keys are very close together.
Additional Comments: before this phone i had a Sidekick 2 and a Blackberry 8700c. the SK2 and the 8700c were not as sluggish. the screen on the 8700c is more vibrant, keypad on the SK2 and 8700c are better. joystick is sometimes hard to point to links on the browser. if you are running 3 applications such as Web, AIM, and E-mail. the phone becomes very sluggish, to the point where if you get a phone call the ringtone is all choppy. the phone has great features, email, browser, media player, many many 3rd party applications. for the price of 149(cingular) this is a great bang for the buck. also the data plan is 15 dollars a month CHEAPER than the blackberry data plan!
Overall rating of the Nokia e62:

Phones owned before: "more than 4".
Self-evaluation of technical knowledge: "I'm above average"

  • Review Title: So Long, BlackBerry (by Lillian) - 10/07/2006

    Ratings for the following topics:
  • - Sound Quality
  • - Ringtone Volume
  • - Strength of Signal Reception
  • - Keypad
  • - Display
  • - Selection of Features
  • - Text Messaging

Pros: Design, web navigation feature, comfortable keypad layout, contacts customization and thumbnails
Cons: Features there isn't content for, contacts listed line by line not business card style, no Mac support
Additional Comments: I measured this against the Motorola Q and the Nokia E62 surpasses it in my opinion. The Q seems like a toy, and this seems like a real, solid phone. I am sold on the web browser navigation and included apps. I am disappointed that this phone has Flash Lite 1.1, Real media and other apps that I cannot find content for. You'd think the carrier would offer services so that you can use those features, but they don't. I found a way to sync this with my Mac, but I can't take full advantage of all of the features because the software is for Windows. All cell phones have quite a way to go to meet consumer demands in the tech age, but while this falls short in some ways, I'm more imoressed than not. I can also discreetly throw it in my pocket and sneak off to make a call without my boss knowing.

    Pros: display, keyboard, weight, price
Cons: lack of flexibility on setting up software, HATE THE LACK OF TEMPLATES...i WANT WHITE! , text is too small for email, the email application displays the text with too many line spaces.

  • Review Title: Nokia e62 -- Lots of features but... (by Charles) - 10/05/2006

    Ratings for the following topics:
  • - Sound Quality
  • - Ringtone Volume
  • - Strength of Signal Reception
  • - Keypad
  • - Display
  • - Selection of Features
  • - Text Messaging

Pros: Very Bright and clear display, keyboard is large for the size and easy to type on.
Cons: Switching applications is slow, issues with attachments.
Additional Comments: Only had phone for a few days. Set up was simple as was syncing phone with the computer. Email is available through several agents. We use BIS for our business, but attachment handling has been poor. Cannot open JPGs or other common files. I've read this is only with Blackberry Connect/BIS for non-RIM devices. The device is a little slow between applications, otherwise is seems very comparable to Windows Mobile.
