  • Review Title: Nokia 5300 is an MP3 player on downers (by Sean Luxembourg) - 11/11/2006

Pros: Easy to upload and listen to music, attractive design, lightweight
Cons: No bass on music, not much Mac support, uploading videos and video quality are subpar
Additional Comments: The phone is beautiful, a bargain, and a worthwhile endeavor. The expandability to 2 GBs is amazing. It won't, however, replace your MP3 player as it has limited music customization tools (i.e. no bass booster, no trebile, only 4 corny eq presets). It also does video extremely poorly and at 1.2 megapixels, the camera won't knock your socks off. It feels comfortable, however, and the bluetooth, and user interfaces are down quite well. In fact, because I own a Mac, my primary mode to upload music is via Bluetooth.

  • Review Title: A brief review of the Nokia 5300 (by Wombatt) - 11/09/2006

    Pros: Excelent interface for multimedia
Cons: A bit chunky and heavy, stock earbuds MUST be replaced
Additional Comments: I got the 5300 mainly to listen to radio and MP3 on the trip to work. Used the stock earbuds at first but got put off by the mediocre sound quality and the lack of volume, plus the fact that the cords would easily tangle up when placed in my pocket. Replaced them with a set of Sony earbuds with the old style (the best, IMHO) circular carrying case, now everything sounds so much better and louder and the cords don't get messed up.
