Review Title: No Title (by Mark Clemmons) - 10/18/2005

    Ratings for the following topics:
  • - Sound Quality
  • - Speakerphone
  • - Ringtone Volume
  • - Strength of Signal Reception
  • - Keypad
  • - Display
  • - Selection of Features
  • - Text Messaging
  • - Camera

Pros: Incredible efficiency and versatility of the Palm Operating System
Cons: Phone dialing is not as physically easy as standard cell phone with dedicated buttons
Additional Comments: There is a Treo 600 and 650 class action lawsuit. I think these people may be nuts. My Treo 650 is an excellent product. I don't understand what the plaintiffs are complaining about.
Overall rating of the Treo 650:

    Reviewer's experience
Phones owned before: "more than 4".
    Self-evaluation of technical knowledge: "I'm a techie"

  • Review Title: Not bad, next gen might be better (by DW) - 08/25/2005

    Ratings for the following topics:
  • - Sound Quality
  • - Speakerphone
  • - Ringtone Volume
  • - Strength of Signal Reception
  • - Keypad
  • - Display
  • - Selection of Features
  • - Text Messaging
  • - Camera

Pros: Very nice screen, backlit keys, software packages are awesome.
Cons: battery life is dependent on type of use (email, phone, etc, ranges from 2-6 days), keypad is difficult to type for large hands, internal speakerphone not loud enough, no holster with phone purchase
Additional Comments: I've been testing the phone through cingular, so i cannot verify how well it works on verizon or sprint. However, this is already my second phone (the first one bit the dust after a month of normal use). The new one is working well, but i'm concerned the phone may have been released without adequate testing.

  • Review Title: Treo 650 for Cingular (by LT) - 08/18/2005

    Ratings for the following topics:
  • - Sound Quality
  • - Speakerphone
  • - Ringtone Volume
  • - Strength of Signal Reception
  • - Keypad
  • - Display
  • - Selection of Features
  • - Text Messaging
  • - Camera

Pros: good reception, good display, easy email setup, easy menu navigation
Cons: low speaker volume, limited bluetooth headset,
Additional Comments: I had a few initial setup issues and there are a few items on my wishlist (described below), but all in all I like the 650 and what it offers. MAJOR SETUP ISSUE: The Cingular sim card does not fit snug in the 650 sim bay. When the card looses contact with the phone you drop connection. The fix was to add a small cut-out from a business card to the back of the sim card. This gave the card the proper "thickness" to stay flush against the 650. WISH LIST: Improve the speaker volume, way too low. Cannot use the navigation arrows in the "call-log" list. Add bluetooth headset to all speaker functions (mp3 player), currently only works for phone calls. Disable or remove "welcome" and "quick tour" menu items (not needed for more that 1 day).
Overall rating of the Treo 650:

    Reviewer's experience
Phones owned before: "2 to 4 cell phones".
Self-evaluation of technical knowledge: "I'm above average"
