It's no secret that the BlackBerry excels at email management and organization. Learning to adjust the email settings on your BlackBerry can turn this powerful tool into an invaluable asset. Changing how you view or sort messages can save you precious time when you're on the go.
By default, your BlackBerry places email in your inbox sorted by arrival date and time. The newest messages appear on the top, and messages appear separately, even if they are part of an ongoing thread. This is not convenient if you need to follow a specific conversation thread carefully. By changing how the BlackBerry sorts and groups your email, you can keep messages with the same subject together, so it is easy for you to keep up with active topics, or keep track of an ongoing conversation.
To Sort Email by Subject:
- Click the Menu button and choose Options.
- Choose Message Display and Actions.
- Under Display Order, choose Subject, Name from the drop-down menu.
Once you make this change, your BlackBerry will sort all messages by day, subject, and then by name. If you prefer to see the emails grouped by subject regardless of date, on the Message Display and Actions screen choose Group by Subject under Display Style.
Grouping support requests or sales orders this way will help expedite responses to your customers. If you need to see all of the communications you've received about a specific item, this is an easy way to do that without searching your entire inbox. These small changes in how email is displayed on your BlackBerry can help you organize your discussions, and stay on top of what is most important to you right now.
