Guide Review - Audiovox PPC-6600 Review
I'm not very enthusiastic about the Audiovox PPC-6600 (sold by Sprint), also called XV6600 when sold from Verizon. There are many bad small details that sum up to be a significant problem. Battery life, for one thing, is much lower than most PDA phones and can hardly last a day. Infrared works well but if the phone's inactivity timer goes off, it will shut down even if a transfer is going on and I was unable to use MP3 music as a ringtone (if someone succeeded in doing so, please let me know). Additionally, Pocket PC not being, in my opinion, the best PDA phone OS, it has complex menu structures with some settings oddly located, such as sound volume.
The speakerphone was ok but in handset mode, the volume was a bit too low and so were ringtones, but sound quality was acceptable. Given the fact that the AUdiovox XV6600 is rather bulky and considering, in particular, the very low battery life, I wouldn't chose this phone as my PDA phone. I was disappointed.
