Question: Why can't I just copy and paste and send myself a ringtone?
Answer: You can, but only with some recent Nokia phones. As opposed to using a data cable or a specialized ringtones site to send a new ringtone to your phone, it would be nice to simply be able to copy and paste a Nokring/RTTTL ringtone directly into an SMS message and send it to your phone through a regular free sms gateway, but is it possible?
In fact, you can do that, but not for all phones. Unfortunately, some manufacturers still prevent users from adding ringtones to their cell phones so easily, under pressure from carriers looking to make sure you will buy ringtones from them.
