Guide Review - Nokia 6300 Review
The lion share goes to the the display - a 240 x 320 pixels TFT - which leaves less room for the keypad. Yet, it is still pretty useable, even with my thick thumbs. The keys are easy to press, feeling almost like touch-sensitive stuff, but without the uncertainty. Despite that high sensitivity, I never ended up accidentally pressing keys while carrying it around since the keypad is slightly recessed.
The camera? Oh my! Looks like someone finally understood that when we shoot a picture, we don't want to be bothered with having to save or send, we just want to take another picture and that's just what the Nokia 6300 does, it returns to the shooting mode without bothering you. Bravo! Most of this tiny phone is also on the efficiency side: menus are simple, shortcut keys are clearly illustrated and the two programmable keys can be associated to virtually anything the Nokia 6300 can do. Even the battery life is above average.
Downsides? Which downsides? I'm still searching. Well, since my job is also to identify and warn you of things that could annoy you, perhaps I should mention that the side volume key doesn't feel good when you press it, the 4-way navigation key is a bit too narrow and also feels odd at times, and to insert a MicroSD memory expansion card (not included), you need to remove the back cover (quickly done). But who cares when you get such a lovely phone in a small package? The Nokia 6300 was loaned to me by Fido.
