Definition: A BlackBerry PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a string of eight alphanumeric characters, used to uniquely identify each BlackBerry. The PIN is hard-coded onto the BlackBerry and cannot be changed. BlackBerrys can send messages directly to each other using their PINs (PIN-to-PIN messaging), and the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) application uses the PIN protocol to exchange messages.
