The HTC EVO 4G wasn't the only Android-based smartphone making waves at the show; Samsung's Galaxy S earned plenty of attention, too. Like the EVO 4G, the Galaxy S features version 2.1 of the Android OS. It also offers a 4-inch Super AMOLED display; while that's slight smaller than the EVO 4G's 4.3-inch screen, it's big enough and plenty bright. It's also capable of displaying 3D graphics.
Samsung says it has reached two notable content deals for the Galaxy S. One is with Skiff, maker of e-reader devices that compete with Amazon's Kindle, for delivery of e-books and magazines to the phone. The other is with Paramount for delivery of movies to the handset.
Samsung did not announce a carrier or pricing for the Galaxy S.
